Brief Bio:
Over twenty-six years ago Pastor Mike started his lifelong journey into full-time service to God. Since the early years of his ministry he has demonstrated–leadership, the ability to strategically plan and implement vision, creativity and a commitment to excellence.

Following four years in the Navy and his graduation from Southwestern University, this journey started in the city of Houston, Texas. There he took a handful of teenagers and built a strong youth ministry of 75 students in a church of 150 people. Mike’s next youth pastor assignments were in the states of New Mexico and Arizona. Mike still has a passion for younger generations and sees the children’s and youth ministry of Southlake Church as our church’s #1 ministry priority. At the age of 34 Mike became the senior pastor of several churches in need of revitalization and health. After completing his master’s degree in pastoral ministry, Mike moved his family back to Texas, where he grew up. During this transition he and his wife (Theresa) worked as school teachers. Theresa is still a public school third grade teacher. In 2003, he and his wife were led by God to assist Evangelist Steve Hill, who is well-known for his role in the Pensacola, Florida “Brownsville Revival” to plant a church in the DFW area. After many years of working with Steve Hill as an instructor at the church’s school of ministry a door opened to become the lead pastor at Southlake Church in 2011.Pastor Mike has a tender heart for missions and reaching unreached people. In fact, over his lifetime he has traveled to over thirty-two countries of the world. But the mission field he’s focused on right now is “Mission America,” believing that our country is in great need of revival and a fresh move of God.Today, Mike and Theresa have been married 26 years enjoying their four children (Michelle 21 a youth pastor’s wife in Midland, TX), (Dustin 16), Destiny (13), Tiffany (11) and their brand new grand daughter (Kenley).
