Our mission’s statement is a modern expression of directives Jesus gave his disciples. As modern disciples of Christ, we seek to honor the Lord by carrying out His instructions known as the “Great Commission” (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Luke 24:47) and the “Great Commandment” (Matthew 24:36-40; Mark 12:29-31)
We believe a great commitment to the Great Commission and the Great Commandment will grow a great church. These two direct commandments from the Lord plus the empowerment (Acts 2:1-4) and the implementation of the Scriptures (Acts 2:42-47 give us our reason for being.
The religious leaders of Jesus’ day made religious service complicated. Jesus dramatically simplified the mission of the church. He took 613 commandments of the Law and reduced them to two, not to abolish the Law but to capture the spirit of the Law in two simple statements.
